Dynamic: Katniss is a dynamic character because she changes throughout the book. She starts the Hunger Games not wanting to kill anybody, especially Peeta, but then towards the end of the games, she becomes excited to see him die. The way she changes shows what the Hunger Games does to people. Round: Katniss is also a round character, because we know all about her. We know that she has had to take care of her family since her father died. We know her motives and her thoughts. We also know how she feels about the Hunger Games and the Capitol. Static: Peeta is a static character because his feelings and motives stay the same throughout the book. He was nice and generous to Katniss as a child when he gave her bread, and he is still nice to her during the Hunger Games. Flat: Haymitch is a flat character because his only purpose in the book is to move the plot. He provides us with information about the Hunger Games, especially when he is training Katniss and Peeta.
